Would you pay $5 for a dozen free range eggs?

Really?  Can you tell the difference?  This goes along with the organic discussion.  A month or so ago I found large eggs for .99 cents a dozen at Target.  Naturally I bought a dozen.  DH would have a conniption if I paid $5 for a dozen eggs.

  1. My compromise is to puchase "cheap eggs" for baking, but also organic, free range eggs for Sunday bfst, the one day a week when I have time to cook bfst. Yes, there is a significant difference in quality and taste. I pay $6/doz for organic, free range eggs. Costs are often even higher, depending upon where one chooses to shop. I get mine directly from a farmer.
