Today is our wedding anniversary 29 years. I have the best husband. We've been through a lot. The death of my parents. His mom has Alzheimers. I've had 8-9 surgeries . And our issues with money is really my fault as dh really isn't much of a spender. So today we went to The Angus Barn in Raleigh, NC. A place for politicians and professional athletes. But us regular folk enjoynit as well but it is expensive. It is NOT frygal in any way. In fact our bill with tip came to a bit over 107.00. Yep but it was worth every penny. I won't feel guilty.

Well let's see. Today I made some homemade pimento cheese and we had baked spaghetti for lunch instead of going out to eat after church. To some that may not seem like much but for us that is a big step. I have enough leftover spaghetti to have for lunch tomorrow at work and dinner tomorrow night. Pimento cheese---it's a Southern thang!! LOL and a photo from my church early this morning.

will be coming out October 1st!! I finished reading the book yesterday and it is AMAZING!! Courtney is a Christian who truly wants God to be first and foremost in her life. Her book speaks of her life examples and is full of scriptures and life applications. I think you will like it. I plan on buying it when it comes out so I can highlight and read it over and over again. Go to the womenlivingwell.org blog to check her some more and view her videos.

miscalculated and messed up the checking account. How in the world did I do this? I mean it isn't rocket science. I've got to get a hold of myself. The last couple of months I've been really lazy especially with the accounts. Oh Lord, please forgive me for being so foolish with the money you've given me to handle. It is ridiculous and shameful to be so careless.

So what do ya'll think? What is too much? I read a blog, Frugal Queen and that blogger doesn't spend a penny unless it is NECESSARY. You can tell from reading my blog that NOPE that AIN'T me folks. But I really need to be more like her. I won't freeze in the winter nor burn up in the summer though. I do have to draw those lines. Do you allow yourself any spending money? If so, how much? Do you take vacations or staycations? Do you go out to eat regularly or hardly at all? Do you make most things, food, cleaning products from scratch or do you buy some convenience items? Are you what some would call a crunch granola type of person or not? Does your greenness come from a concern about the environment or saving some dough?

Crystal from moneysavingmom.com is having a make it from scratch challenge. It can be cooking, crafting .......anything you do but do it from scratch. I think this is way cool. Of course I'm sure a lot of ya'll are "scratchers" anyways. So do you think you could or would do this? Are you already a "scratcher"? Chime in!!

Our trips to college football games started today. We live 3 1/2 hours from school and for many years we've made it a one day round trip. Not this weekend. I'm so tired of being tired in the fall. So we booked a hotel room for Friday and Saturday nights. We are staying in West Jefferson. A very quaint mountain town.

My mother in law went home today. I don't know how things will go. She's been experiencing bad health the last year or so on top of Alzheimers. Alzheimers is a tough disease to deal with both for the patient and the patient's family. One thing I know is this has cause my husband and I to discuss the need for long term care. The facilities cost major bucks and if we want to start preparing for it we have to start now. On top of everything else, we have to now save for this. It never ends...........you can never have enough $$ to be prepared for possible expenses. If I put us on a austere budget.........well that won't go over very well.............so I guess I have to put myself on an austere budget. Now to go to Target and purchase some NEEDED household items. Cheers!

Our LBW was bad, very bad. Saturday afternoon, as we were watching Notre Dame play football, we got a call that my mother in law collapsed and foaming at the mouth and an ambulance had been called. We live 2 1/2 hours away. I quickly cleaned up what we had been eating, we started throwing clothes and items together to make the trip. She has been ICU ever since. Hopefully she will go to another room today but............then this morning she had a bad episode. She has Alzheimers, although she does not know this, and this morning was bad. So confused and argumentative. So she will most likely stay a little longer to get this under "better" control, if there is such a thing.
