You msy think that clinique is an absolute must while the next person thinks it is a luxury. I honestly don't know if i could. What do you think?

Not Feeling So Great Today

My head hurts, my stomach is a bit wonky and I am so tired. Now after reading Froogs lately I decided to fix boxed macaroni and cheese. Yep..............that wonderment of orange cheesy lookalike stuff. It's better than spending money going out to eat, eh? I got paid today. I also paid $50 extra to the Visa Card, put $30 away for Christmas, $100 for emergencies and $100 for vacation. I will also put $104 to my church on Sunday so now I have to live on what is left. Lord, help me!!!!!! I wish I were more like Froogs.

spendy Thursday

Today is my dh's birthday. So..........I took him to Kickback Jack's. For $13.57 we got a huge platter of nachos and 2 draft beers. I left a $3 tip. Then we went to Goodberry's for desert. Nope, I'm not as disciplined as Froogs but my dh deserves this. He works two jobs all year round for years. He doesn't spend much money at all. ON the way home we had a vicious thunderstorm. Here's a pic of the clouds.

Wednesday whining

So today I had to spend some money. Vanity is for my haircut..............$35 plus a tip. I tip 20% which adds another $7 to the total for a grand total of $42. I get a haircut every 4 weeks. Now my frugal bloggers out there will probably slap me upside the head if they were near me but.........I do not look good at all with long hair. I look much better and younger and all around just like myself with short hair. It grows very fast so that is why I get it cut every 4 weeks. I love to read frugal queen, aka known as Froogs. Like I've said before she can make a penny scream. She colors her own hair and rarely gets cuts. But then again she looks very good in long hair. Plus a big epic fail here, I went to Mickey D's for lunch because I did not pack one for a total of $3.86. I also went to Target to get my husband a birthday card and a bottle of Target shower gel. That total was $6.58 So for the day, I spent a little under $53.00. Not good but at least I budget for my haircut. The dinner was a salad with some chicken strips (Trader Joe's) along with shredded cheddar cheese, olives, banana peppers plus some salad dressing. I had water to drink my dh had tea.

Monday dinner

So tonight we grilled chicken thighs. One for each of us. We also had salad(mixed greens, onions, yellow pepper rings, shredded cheddar cheese and dressing), roll and leftover green bean casserole. For the most part, I think this was pretty frugal. I don't have the prices but I do know that the French style green beans were on sale as well as the cheese and fried onion bits on top of the casserole. We get a great deal on the frozen dough balls for the rolls as well. I did spend some money at work today. I bought a bag of animal crackers and a reese's bar. I need to work on not spending any money at all at work. I need to pack lunch and snacks every day. It would be great if I had a train to ride into work like one of my fave bloggers at That girl can make a penny scream!! And she has so much discipline.

Car paid off

So as of Monday night my husband's car was paid off. That leaves the mortgage and about $3900 on the Visa. I don't know whether to go Dave Ramsey gazelle and try to put every single available cent to the credit card or put some in savings and some on the Visa.

A Little Faith Sharing

So the past couple of weeks I've really been inspired by Nancy Leigh Demoss at Revive our Hearts plus many of the blogs I read daily especially those that discuss modesty, frugal living, gardening or farming. I was trying to read the Bible in 2 years. A noble goal but I found myself just reading the passages but not really reading them, if you know what I mean. I wasn't digesting them, REALLY thinking about them. Then I started listening to Revive our Hearts via my Iphone on my way to work. She has had a series on suffering and 2 Timothy. I started listening to her and reading the passages. Underlining them, thinking about them. You know trying to figure out how can I apply this to my life kind of inward discussion with myself. I'm finding that I like this method best so far. We will see how it goes. What kind of Bible study do you like?

So I've put a limit of $50 per week for groceries. And wouldn't you know it the first week, I went over $4.94. Not too bad I guess but could've been better. I only used one coupon for the All Detergent. It was on sale for $2.99 and I had a .75 cent coupon for it. Otherwise most all of it was on sale anyways as a a lot of it is Kroger brand. The spring mix salad and 12 pack of diet citrus drop did not make the photo as my dh already put them up before I snapped the pic!!
